England 2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Stornoway GreyDiscovery 3

On my drive from East London, across the city (outside Congestion Zone) and down to Plymouth I normally manage 32-33mpg. I don't thrash it and keep my revs steady, I can even get away with cruise control on occasion. On the stint across London it is normally around 18mpg for the hour and half. Put that with the 3 hours to Plymouth and I reckon the cruising economy to be pretty darned good.

As an aside my wife's 1998 1.8 petrol Freelander used to work out at about 27mpg so we are happy with the money we are saving!! Thumbs Up

depnds on driving style etc etc .

Personally , 7 seater manual with a Turbochip remap returns are from 31 mpg to 34 mpg .

On current tank fill :

Average Consumption = 31.3 mpg
Average Speed = 48.3 mpg ( Dublin Traffic is a killer )
Trip = 796 Kilometres
Range at current mpg = 87 Kilometres
Using above full tank = 883 Kilometres or 548 ish miles

Im not light on the pedal and the above is of mixed , city ( 30 % approx ) , motorway/carriageway (60 % approx) , country roads/lanes (10 % )

Recommend a Remap if you are fuel conscious or fixated.

PS Enjoy the new vehicle ( Impossible not to ! ) Wink

About 15 mpg on a good run
....... 12 when racing the Landcruisers off the lights
..................and about 7 when in the dunes.

But it is a V8 and worth every bit just to feel that power! Mr. Green

FWIW,

My trip shows around 31/32 during the week and goes upto around 34/35 on the longer runs.

Fill up calculations show I am getting around 30mpg, lowest around 26mpg I do about 650 miles a week, 400 of that as a steady c/c controlled 60mph ish.

Mine is HSE auto with 46k on the clock, and soon to be 'evolved'. Thumbs Up

MPG

I have just bought a TDV6 HSE Auto and regularly travel around town and on the motorway. If I set cruise at 70 on the motorway I am returning 32mpg. Around town it varies but combined average for me at the moment is 28mpg which I am really pleased with.

Went to Newbury last week and averaged 40 mpg for about 15 miles,
not bad considering its an auto, was travelling 56-60 mph in 5th gear.

At 70mph drops to about 33-35mpg

Round town drops further 23-25mpg

Initially I was getting 27-27mpg with a mix of town driving and enthusiastic use of rural A, B and unclassified roads. Since fitting AT tyres it's down to 24.5 - 25.5

if you changed tyre sizes as well as tread pattern your speedo reading will be out up to 10% whihc is about the variance in your fuel

On my manual diesel which I bought new in May the on board computer is showing around 32 mpg on normal mixed driving, and I have covered over 2000 miles.

But last week I filled up with Shell a hundred yards from Junction 7 of M6, zeroed the computer, then drove to Leicester on M6 then M69. I drove steadily between 60 and 70 mph in 6th gear, keeping the revs below 2000.

Approaching Leicester at the end of the M69 the OBC was showing 49.9 mpg!

Soon dropped back to the 30s as I hit the lights, the roundabouts, the road works of Leicester.

John
