New key fob

I bought a 2010 D4 3 weeks ago and the dealer gave me 2 keys but one was a replacement and he said that the replacement requires new gubbings that will need to be programmed would this be true? they also told me that the new module as he called it is on back order. Its now over 3 weeks would this be true?

Got one being done under warranty in a few weeks time MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
MY15 D4 HSE Kaikoura Stone
MY12 D4 HSE Nara Bronze Sold and gone
MY11 D4 HSE Stornaway Grey Sold and gone
D3 S spec Silver Sold and gone
Tow bar, full length roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit, surround camers.
D4 camera club

Are you having a complete new key and did the dealer say how long it takes to programe it?

No idea the key is starting to fall apart, outter plastic cover coming unstuck. Spoke to dealer and they said would all be sorted under warranty. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
