New LR engine numbers?

Just been considering a MY14 D4 that has had a new engine fitted under warranty 11 months ago, it has done 10k miles since, the part number on the invoice is LRO 63285 engine, does anyone know if that is a new genuine engine?- would it come complete with timing belt fitted?
Is LR number LRO 16656 kit-Pump belt the timing belt?
I am just trying to establish when the timing belt would need changing, the work was done by a main LR agent and the final bill which I have a copy of was over £22k Shocked
All input appreciatated.

Change "LRO" to LR0 (zero) and immediately the other numbers. The part number does not contain the acronym of a magazine Wink

LR063285
LR016656

They are now in the correct LR part number format and should turn up in searches Smile

Yes, so I can't see them cutting corners, includes 2 turbos, vat and recovery. Invoices look genuine, I will be making some phone calls tomorrow to check, even got the owners address on them, one sheet isn't big enough but no mention of timing belt.

Thumbs Up Thanks, I have found the engine part number and someone else has asked the same question and got no positive answer.

A stripped engine usually means without ancillaries, eg. turbos, alternator PAS etc

Hi. LR063285 is a stripped engine which comes with heads, cams & front timing belt, tensioners, rollers & cover.
LR016656 is the injection pump belt kit inc tensioner which, as it doesn't come with the pump, has to be swapped over, so a new injection pump belt kit is fitted.
So, the starter, alternator, injectors, exhaust manifolds, turbos (unless renewed in your case), flywheel driveplate, sensors etc are all swapped over from the old engine

Regards
Steve

Thanks Steve, that's very interesting, the replacement engine is described as "stripped". The old engine has been flood damaged, what about the EGR's?- new turbos have been fitted but no mention of the EGRs, should they have been replaced?

Depends on the flood. If water was ingested & hydraulic'd the engine then the EGR's should not really be affected, unlike the turbos. EGR's would be swapped from the old engine
The EGR is just basically a round valve either side which allows exhaust gas back into the cylinders. As it's dealing with nasty corrosive exhaust gases, carbon & gunk, a little bit of water (if it reached that far) is unlikely to affect it.

If it was immersed in a flood, then everything would be affected, including the rest of the car. Sad

It was hit by a bow wave from a lorry when going through flood water.

Wow, that must have been deep!

Are the carpets wet? Big Cry

So, it would have been sitting in the deep water for a while then....... worrying.

It has done over 10k miles on the new engine, car looks like new inside and out. I have since spoken to the recovery driver and he says the water was not deep, he has seen much deeper, it was the speed of the lorry that splashed water into the air intake that caused the damage, the engine is still under LR warranty.

I would be worried about future effect of flooding in terms of corrosion, particularly in wiring & with regard to connections.

Will LR extend the warranty ? I would approach other warranty companies & ask them as well, making a full declaration of the fact that the vehicle has been water damaged.
