Having visited this site and found all the info and members experiences invaluable, thought I say hello formally.
Just got my 07 spec HSE java black via insurance after the previous 06 model was stolen from my driveway in November .
Should anyone be offered a silly cheap Java black disco 3 with 16000 miles and a chipped windscreen, run a mile & call the police..

Welcome Binko.
Stolen from the driveway. Was that with the keys??? I would not have thought they were easy to steal.

Dear D3 owners,
I'm new at this web site. I've spent abour threee hours reading lots of posts at different entries ... and I'm a bit worry regarding the long, long list of incidents, bugs, technical as well as mechanical issues...
Is it worth to apply for a D3 HSE at 55000Euros? I do love this car, in fact I had already driven it and in my opinion it's fantastic ...
Please advice ... Is it anything I should make the dealer aware of, before I put my signature on the contract?
Thanks in advance for your support ... and advice ...!!!!

Look at the dates on the relevant posts you hav read, and you will see that most of the issues relate to earlier cars, and most have now been fixed.
There are few serious problems reported these days compared with 12 months ago.
A new 07 model seems to be a very reliable car indeed.

Hi Menfis,
There are some serious problems being a Disco3 owner:-
RRS are secretly jealoius off us
My wife has taken a shining to the truck and I have to sneak out and steal it
People look up at you from normal cars...and you can just tell that they are afraid of you
Children think it is a adventure playground and camping in the back is de-rigor (is that spelt right??..oh well)
You have to learn to read...multi story car parks under 2M hieght room should be demolished
Extra dental care is a definate requirement for the permagrin needs attention as you rumble up/over/down seemingly impossible ground..lock-jaw could be problem as well
A small step ladder is a must if you want to clean the roof
...
...hmm I think there is more reasons like this but.....
From problem point of view, I´ve had a D3 since Aug-06, around 6500 KM, less than a litre of oil, only problem was the drainage pipe for the AC was lose..other than that zero
creo que es el mejor coche que he tenido
I reckon this is the best car I´ve owned
Cheers Artic Frost, HSE, TDV6

Indeed I've realised through 4x4 technical magazines how resourceful and capable the D3 is. In fact through a 20.000 kms test carried out by Autoverde one of the aspects that hit my attention was its high reliability while being tested through all kind of landscapes, including desert.
I'm of the kind of people that anything above 24.000 Euros is already a lot for a car. The case of the D3 is something special for us, my family. We do like travelling and get advantage while visiting the places everywhere we go.
We do beleive that the D3 is the perfect companion.
It would be sad that, what in first place looked quite promissing turns into a real pain in our ass with a loan of 50/55K Euros... on top.
In my opinion D3 is not a regular 4x4 car, it's a versatile car, offering unbeatable off-road capabilities plus the room and the comfort for a family for long trips.
I'm convinced, that the D3 is our car. Whether to go for SE or HSE version(5000 Euros difference in 50.000 is not much to be honest) we are considering it...
