I’ve copied the below from the workshop manual, apparently parking sensor “tell you” what wrong Smile the second ones sounds about right with your description?

Diagnostics
The parking aid module has a diagnostic connection via the medium speed CAN to enable faults to be retrieved using T4.
Additionally, an on-board diagnostic routine within the parking aid module constantly monitors the system and alerts the driver to a system fault by emitting a tone from the front or rear sounder, depending on the fault.

If a parking aid system fault has occurred, the parking aid module will relay the occurrence of the fault to the driver in the following ways:
The status LED will flash at a frequency of 2Hz if the system is active and fault is detected in the sensors, sounders, related wiring or the module.

The front sounder will emit an error tone for 3 seconds at a frequency of 1500Hz if a fault is detected with the front sensors or the rear sounder develops a fault.

The rear sounder will emit an error tone for 3 seconds at a frequency of 1500Hz if a fault is detected with the rear sensors, the switch, the LED in the switch or if there is a CAN bus error.

Yeah the second one sounds about right, is that manual available anywhere? I feel like it might be somewhat of a bible

I finally got around to getting the rear sounder out, and now the beeping has stopped, so I guess my hearing is broken as when I plugged it back in I could here the long beep again when I switched the ignition on, so the beep was from the back and not the front Laughing

As the LED is flashing constantly in the switch I am thinking it is more this problem:

So I think my next option will be to get a code reader that shows live data and see if one of the sensors is busted or not, and I guess remove the bumper cover and see if the wiring has shorted or not.

The next thing is to read the fault codes.

Generally it will:

1. point to a specific sensor
or
2. Say short circuit front and rear. Which usually means one of the sensors has failed and you manually need to remove every sensor

p.s - It should also say rear speaker, if you have had it unplugged. Ignore,

So I am guessing this is going to be a faulty sensor either in the front, rear or both

I am guessing the green corrosion in this cable is the problem Idea

Edit: "Error retrieving album data" - cannot upload a photo to show - but the yellow / red cable on the rear loom is split and full of corrosion by the looks of it

i can see pic

that cable problem does not match the fault code

with park sensors, there are usually about 3 faults, as they haven't worked for years !

So as I can’t hear any of them click, front or rear, I wonder if all the sensors are dead or if there is another broken cable somewhere

you need a multi meter.
put it on ohms.
disconnect the bumper wiring from the car
put the meter wires between black and brown on the bumper cable
Adjust meter till it reads a value

Unplug each sensor in turn. If the value goes up significantly (or reads 1) when one particular sensor is disconnected then that sensor is probably faulty. Leave it disconnect.

If nothing significant happens, repeat on the other bumper.

Plug the bumpers back into the car. (leaving the 1 suspect sensor disconnected)
Clear the fault codes.
Put the car into reverse with park brake off. See what happens.
Back into Park.

Re read fault codes and see if the "short" (or power circuit in the case of autel AP200) codes have gone. If no, repeat above tests.

A new code would be expected for the 1 disconnected sensor.

Its usually sensible to have 2 new sensors avaiable to swap in. Makes things lots easier
