no drive!! - 09 auto

Arrggg

just been out, selected reverse, a bit stiff, backed off the drive, selected D - nothing, no drive, just engine reving. Select N, then D again, moved off OK. Stopped at junction, still in D, pressed acellerator, no movement, just revs, then bang (as drive enganges with revs quite high!) and off we go.

TFC said at the last service that the selector linkage was cruddy underneath, and its booked in under warrenty next monday to have this looked at - would this be the cause of no drive, lever is in D but its not quite there at the 'box end?

Tried putting it in Sports / CS Mode (might work long enough to get through to the garage).

Al, that would provide exactly the symptoms you describe.

Aouinds as thoiugh it'll need a new clamp rather than just a clean up. Not expensive though Thumbs Up

In the mean time, what I found helped, move the gear lever through its cycle, P to D several times, quite quickly, this might just free it up enough to last until Monday.
I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

On mine I had to hold the gear lever back and to the right. Due to a delay in getting the part, I had to do a couple of trips with a shock cord looped round the lever and fastened to the back of the driver's seat runner.
