Thanks

Just looking at a video now: am I correct thinking I undo the in and out pipes, put the clean one in a bucket, then pump water through the dirty one for 5 minutes. Then reconnect, refill coolant, bleed.

That should be done then?

If not, replace the matrix via the right side footwell?

I could do it but need it spelling out first 🤣

yeah.

ideally park the car near a drain.

you can hose the fresh water in either direction/pipe if you aren't making progress unblocking it.

if cats drink coolant (which they like to as its sweet) they will die.

The FB heater only starts up below 5°C

Ok thanks and I’ve learned my lesson with coolant so I won’t be spilling any!

The FBH hasn’t kicked in yet and it was 3 this morning.

Is it true there’s a phone app to access it and turn on manually?

Id really like to get this working

The txt messaging thing is an aftermarket kit costing £300

You can get remote kits at a fraction of the price.

I think you need to remove the fbh fuse next to the battery for 30 seconds in a hope to reset it

Do you have a gap iid ?

Hi no I don’t have a gap iid but I do have the Autel ap200 but I don’t think it has FBH settings

I’m about to try the fuse now. Here’s to hoping

Dont put coolant down the surface water drains! Not omly is it illegal it will mess up the filter beds in the treatment works.

Drain it into a container and take it to the local tip.

Hi all again

Can anyone confirm this is the heater matrix piping please. Also which one is the outlet (so I know which one to pump water through)

Also where’s the beat place to tap in, and what kind of fitting I need in order to connect please?

Presuming I just need the right size tubing with a pater pump of some kind on the other end

Tia

Yes that’s correct.

I just get a hose nozzle and stuff it into the rubber pipe and hold it with my hands.

Doesn’t matter which is in or out. You need to flush it both ways to dislodge dirt

Refit your oil cap so nothing goes down there Thumbs Up

Cheers Pete

Could I undo the pipe at the bottom left part of the picture where it’s easier to access?

my vote for a blocked heater matrix...just had the same on a RRS, drivers side was warm, passengers side ice cold, tried several flushing method, hose pipe and chemical...they did nothing. So I managed to replace the matrix without stripping whole dash...but the clips that hold the pipes to the matrix are a major pain to get back on. Anyway its now very good and you have to turn it down as it's so hot!!

I gave it a flush of about 6 litres of water today and saw some brown crud. But still not working. So I’m going to try tomorrow with a different method.

Hopefully no replacement needed!!!!!!

Hi all again

Pumped it both ways yesterday with a hose and water was clear coming out.

The right side seems to be working a bit hotter in front than it was. And it warmed up a little quicker.

But the left side front was even less blow power and still mild cool.

Rear ones the same felt less power if anything!

Does this indicate a blow late if it’s still got a hint of warm. Or is the matrix not about heat?

I don’t have funds to replace so I’m wondering if there are any tekkers about. Maybe tap certain pipes to free up movement?

Pump water more aggressively? If so a 1500watt jet wash up the hose maybe?
Or would that cause damage?

Or remove the thing and clean it? I see it’s a bit of a cnut but I’d rather battle it than parts and labour charges!

Would it do any long term damage to the car it’s self?

Thanks again!
