you need to dremmel a bit of plastic to make clearance.

disconnect the pipes, then yes.

Flush it out or the car, should be much easier to flush it out, without the dirt having to go up hill !
Also pour hot kettle water on the middle bit, see if that frees things, then flush with hot water

Removed and spent a good 30 minutes gently dropping it on its side and vibrating loose any gunk... blasting hot water through in between. Both directions. No pipes connected.

Several rinses there seemed to be a Sandy liquid come out. But generally it looked fine inside. I’m just wondering if it’s even going to make a difference!

I will be extremely miffed if it’s not the fix, as I am struggling not to lose my cool with these pipe clips. They are very hard to get over both pipe lips and screw tight without popping off. I’ve given up for today as I’ll end up breaking it lol.

Someone said about the matrix being at the bottom and gathering crud... is it not possible to attach it in the top left of the engine bay where the rubber pipes are? Or does it need to go through the dash and footwell?

Any tips how to get the clips back on also please?

Didn’t get images as phones broke.

Tia

Not worth the hassle rerouting pipes

If this fails you will just have to get a new matrix

How the f do I get these clips back on the matrix pipes please?

I’m off the road and stuck with it. I’m about to explode. These clips just will not go on. Surely I can do something else? Desperate here!

Sorry, don't know.

Don't the pipes just butt up against each other
and then you carefully open the clip so it goes around the joint, and holds it close ?

I figured it out haha basically screw the screw so it barely holds the clip. Fit it between the pipes, push pipes together, hold with fingers closed and use other hand to screw it tight. Took me about 4 hours to find the best physical position to see and get my arms in position.

BUT IT DIDMT WORK!!!!!!!

Raging with frustration now fbh and matrix been months of failures.....

Heating hasn’t changed in the slightest, right side is warm/toasty. Left side is weak and cool.
Surely this can’t be the matrix? It’s been cleaned within an inch of its life. It looked fine before hand too. Looked fairly new if anything. I’m wondering if the old owner has done something else damage wise not knowing. There seems to be grey fluff coming out of 4 holes under left footwell. 1 has air blowing out the others look like they should be clear. But then it’s still cool and the rear foot wells are almost no air blowing at all. So it’s very confusing.

I am so broke I couldn’t afford a new matrix.

If you put the fan on slow, then rotate the passenger temp. know from hot to cold quickly.
Wait, and see if you can hear a flap move.

If you don't try from cold to hot and wait

As these are dual control - one side can be warmer than the other. Have you checked that the two control knobs are doing anything. The passenger one may not be doing its job.
