Noisey air suspension compressor at start up

I have recently became the pround owner of 54 reg 2.7td D3. Having owned her for a month now I am begining to notice little niggly bits, for example

* On starting the engine the air suspension seems to be making a "fridge motor type noise" only for 5-30 seconds.
*the handbrake can be quite harsh on application
*and how the hell do i change a blown side light?

your help/ comments will be appreicated

cheers Thumbs Up

Hi,

And welcome to the world of D3!

1st- Air compressor noise on start up is normal,so nothing to worry about!

2nd-To change side light you need to remove the whole light unit, and to do this remove the front grill first,4 tabs along top edge and 1 at each end middle of grill, should then pop off.

Next the headlamps have x 2 metal tabs 1 at either end, pull them up(can be a bit stiff so mind you don't smack yourself in the face)unplug the wiring loom, find the cap for the side light bulb, twist off, lever cap out, pull bulb and replace, job done.

Reverse process to put it back together!

DSD Thumbs Up

Welcome

1) has d3 been used offroad. May just need compressor cover taking off and all the mud cleaning out if noise is excessive. See my gallery for a PDF description
