Nokia phone cradle

Hi Guys,

Nice site this one - well done! Lots of good advice and a good attitude from all the contributors in my view.

I became a proud owner last week and am very much still getting used to all things D3.

For the integrated telephone my last car used a 6310i, but I part-exchanged this at the phone shop for a 6230i and visited my dealer on Saturday afternoon to buy the relevant cradle. I was thwarted as the parts dept. was shut and despite having the keys the sales people wouldn't open up because "it's the rules".

Slightly cheesed at their attitude having just spent 40 big ones I'd like to know if there's anywhere else I can get one of these from?

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks!!

Welcome Eddiecat! Thumbs Up

Try Nick at Yeovil Landrovers, he does good disco3.co.uk discounts.

I don't know if your 07MY car will need a patch to work the 6230i with PTI (my 06 D3 did).

Software update (and that's as techie as I get!!!). I just use patch as it's easier to spell! Some dealers do it foc, others charge for it. Means you can use the phonebook in the 6230i when the phone is in the cradle, also look at last number redialled etc. Well worth getting sorted.

Hi DSL,

Had a chat with Nick as instructed and the cradle arrived next-day. He's very helpful!

Fitted in a couple of seconds and able to make and take calls immediately with no other additions and changes.

Only one thing caught me out, on my last car when I turned off the ignition the phone was always switched off automatically and calls would then come through to my 'pocket' mobile which is second priority on my dual sim package. With this LR system the phone stays switched on, so there were quite a few missed calls when I got in this morning. (But no calls to disturb me at home during the night Very Happy Very Happy

I'm not really very technical, but is there any way I can set the car or the phone to switch off when the ignition goes off?

Otherwise very impressed and lovely and relaxing to drive. Don't feel I have to get in and nail it as I did with previous car. Will give it a workout this weekend with drive to Falmouth full of sailing stuff.
