Nokia SW

Hi all

I had (and still have) a nokia 6230 that fulfilled all my needs concerning a mobile phone. No need to change.

But I found out that it was not on sale anymore for a long time already so I immediately ordered TWO new pieces of Nokia 6230i (Two because sometimes I go through them quickly drowning or crashing them). This model will fit the same cradle as the 6230 and instead of waiting untill Nokia cancels this model, I ordered them right away.
But I needed to have the cars software updated.

But even with the new software on the LR, it doesn't work properly:
- when in the cradle: no numbers from the telephone available at all (address book - call register)
- bluetooth connection not possible at all.

Land Rover Prague claims that the SW of my phone is to new for the LR software.
They will have a compatible version only within few months, maybe even half a year: "Land Rover UK is not that quick in updating their SW - unfortunately" they said.

Does anybody knows if their version is or can be true?
I can hardly believe this. I guess The Nokia 6230i is by far the most common business phone in Europe. And it is on the market for several years.

Any information or related experiences are most welcome!
thanks in advance

They said I should downgrade to version 3.71. So mine is newer but I do not know which version. Keying in #*000# dosn't do anything...

Try *#0000# - this should work
Most likely you will not be able to downgrade SW version - at least not via Nokia service... Confused

I won't be able to downrade myself but the people selling and doing service for Nokia should be....

But is it realy needed? Isn't LR Prague fooling me in order to hide that they are not able or willing to download from LR the right SW? The 6230i is very common and the SW I have is almost one year old.
I can't imagine no d3 was sold to an owner having the 6230i with the same software as I have.

Was done. The dealer's story is that the SW of my cell phone is too recent for the (updated) SW of the car....

I personally have no idea CS! is it not worth a trip to the local Nokia service centre to see if they can put a 6230i S/W version on that is close to a qualified version? they must keep images of previous releases you would think?
it's always worth asking the question?

Thanks BM, your suggestion is certainly what I will do.

Nevertheless I would have liked to know the thruth.
- It is hard to believe LR does not have the SW for a extremely common phone after almost one year.
- So I gues LR has it. In this case, the dealer was to naive to find out details or not even willing to do effort.
- In this case I certainly regret the two hour drive there, the two hour drive back and the waiting time (although they offered me exellent coffee).
