Glow plugs often snap when you try to remove Sad

Two alternatives.

The heater starts after the engine has started!
However there are many alternative remote kits to start them up and then the engine will start and you will have a warm heater

Did you wait for the glow plug light to go out?

Pour a couple of kettlefulls of hot water over the engine block and then try and start it. Raises the temperature just enough to get it started.

It was a ritual for me for a diesel Shogun when the glowplug relay failed and couldn't get hold of one for a while during a particularly cold period.

I’ve been here before a few times, as the previous said, pour hot water on the temp sensor (located by the fan slightly in the centre, grey electrical plug)

It’ll raise the temp of the engine and allow you to start.

If your struggling you can go to YouTube and type in “discovery 3 cold start problems”

Hope this helps
