I'll defer to your judgement as I've never owned an autobox before so not had anything to compare it to. Still appeared to pull ok.Tony

Right, Contrary to my previous comments the Dealership have let me down big time.
Just had to fork out £2000 to get my car back on the road. They were supposed to have set up the extended warranty before Christmas but failed to do so. My car went wrong 2 days after the initial warranty expired.
The dealership denies I instructed them to set it up and are now denying that I even contacted them about it, despite my phone records proving otherwise.
Therefore contrary to my previous comments, I recommend you don't go anywhere near 1st Choice Cars in Farringdon if my experience is anything to go by.Tony
Picked up my new (to me) D4 yesterday …
10 miles and 15 minutes later am calling the dealership whilst stuck at the side of the road, "Gearbox Fault" displayed clearly on the dashboard and the car in limp mode! Sigh!
Why do you think they needed an extended warranty in place ? by sound of the above it's down to them to fix this. Small claims court otherwise.

Agreed with HW, sounds like a job for small claims court. Perhaps a Letter Before Action first from a solicitor.

A little context here. The car had a gearbox fault the day I picked it up. This they sorted and fixed at their expense. The offered me an extended warranty for £400 instead of the normal £800 for the inconvenience.
However, I left it with them to sort as they were checking what the start date would be; the original purchase date or the date they apply for the warranty. I hadn't parted with any money but "assumed" they had sorted and would invoice me.
3 months and 2 days after the initial purchase date I had catastrophic failure of the BCU going over a large pothole (loose battery connection assumed to have caused a spike). Called them to get warranty details only to be told it had expired 2 days previously. When questioned about the extended warranty they denied all knowledge of it.
I've got nothing in writing as it was all conducted over the phone. Tony
