Not got bluetooth or ipod/phone connection in your D3 |
|
For those who do not already have the LR ipod ACM or bluetooth, the new kit from Parrot seems to do the job.

I've got my van booked in for next week to get it fitted. Very impressed after a demo of this, all the usual transfer of phonebooks, voice dial, voice inform, shows playlists on screen and charges the 3G phone at the same time. Also has a remote interface unit that mounst of the steering wheel or anywhere you want it.
I think I'd have this solution before the LR kit now. if I was keeping my D3 i'd upgrade from my parrot kit to this.

I've fitted one of these in my D3. Had it for a few months now. If anyone wants to know anything, then please ask...

been weighing this up - the Parrot forum has pages and pages of 'issues' with the MKI series although I suspect these are more to do with ironing out bugs.
Where have you fitted screen - any chance of pics

You can certainly store multiple numbers against a single contact. Don't think there's a concept of favourites though, although I haven't explicitly checked.
Remember the Parrot forum is populated by only those users who have problems. Usually there's a simple solution. Parrot UK customer services are very good and responsive in my experience. The forum is not hte place to get support however. There is a phone line or email address for that.
The MKi9200 is a complex device and it needs to be installed properly to get the best out of it. By that I mean using the line-outs for music etc. Note, I had to install an amplifier between the Parrot and the AUX in due to low volume levels.
I'll take a pic of my install in a bit.

I too am a fan of the Parrott kits, i have the CK3200 and may upgrade soon as most of the wiring I was informed by Parrot is transferable. Shame though the kit comes with the remote, thought I would be able to use the steering wheel controls.
My install is in my Gallery, but now have the Landrover Logo as the screensaver and looks 8)

Macleod, you will be able to use steering wheel controls when Parrot release the MultiCOMM for his kit, due Q1 I am told from the horse's mouth. I've bought the red and green buttons from Nick in readiness!
Also, I can confirm the 3200 Telemute lead is compatible as that's what I used to install the 9200 However, you'll need to do a bit of extra work to connect the aux out for stereo music streaming. It requires a bit of bespoke installation. It's not plug and play.

ok guys, you've sold me on mki - thanks.
Next thing to work out is should I DIY install or pay Halfords. Rather DIY but I'm only 6/10 competent at wires and things. Any advice

The hard bit is working out what to do, but we've done that for you If you need a step by step guide we can work you through it. However having said that, it's not entirely plug and play. Hot solder and patience is required!

did you not have the adaptor lead to marry the parrot kit to the LR head unit, similar to what the LR ipod kit does?

Yes but this only connects the phone input (which still needs pins to be inserted into a multiplug however). Power, switched live and ground still need to be spliced in somewhere, plus for the MKi range audio streaming, you need to wire up the aux outputs into the aux input of the LR head unit, which aren't part of the 3200 loom.
The LR iPod kit is much easier, in that everything just plugs together.
