now that what I call consumpton thanks Shell Fuel save ...
Today i checked and corrected my tyre pressures, I cleaned the valve that gets gunked up, I used Shell Diesel fuelsave, I switched off the air con, I reset the fuel computer and set off on the M55 from Blackpool today. I set the cruise at 70mph and drove for around 5 miles and then took this picture, I am very pleased with this fuel consumption of 34.8 mpg , is this the norm or do others get better ??

And that's anything to do with the shell fuel? ISTR they had to pull claims of saving fuel.

In my experience add 1 mpg to the trip computer to get actual (although I seem to be the only person on the forum with a pessimistic TC!)

I often get 35 on a run. If I drop the speed down to 65 it makes a difference. However lot depends on which ways the wind is blowing. Towing I get 25 never really changes unless the wind is in my face and blowing. Lot of it is down to driving style.

Mine over-reads by anything from 2 - 5mpg. I get depressed when I see 17mpg on the trip.

Not really representative - downhill, tail wind etc. Needs to be for at least 1/2 a tank worth to see what it actually is......
I'm getting less than that and my EGR's were changed last year (Both)
But I do a lot of start stop driving to and from work. Off to Leeds tomorrow, so will see if it does get better. If not, then I'll have to see what is wrong.Mark.

My D4 is currently showing 41mpg
Reason being - that having showing an average of 29mpg, after a drive in the moors today, my mpg went down to 24.5
So around 15 miles from home, on good roads, I reset my trip meter and drove as light footed as I could, keeping speed to around 55mph - just to see what I could achieve.
Was surprised I managed to achieve such a reading, but that will be well gone by tomorrow I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Mine had both EGR's replaced a little over two years ago, currently getting around 25MPG mainly communting to and from work. 13 mile journey covering rural national speed limit roads and a few miles of urban speed limits. The 57 plate we have at work (which gets hammered) is around the same or worse, but that one has a light bar and go faster striping.
