Now I’m a ‘proper’ D3 Owner. |
|
Today I had that experience that all D3 Owners with a sunroof have to go through.
Drove up the road late this afternoon and had a dribble of water come out the front of the courtesy light moulding all over the gear stick surround.
So I spent an hour or so this evening sorting out the sunroof drains.
As taught on here I removed the air intake cover to clean out and cut the end off the Nozzle on the Drivers side, then spent 10 uncomfortable minutes with my arm up under the front wheelarch liner sorting out the passenger side, before ‘rodding’ the pipes through with a length of curtain wire.
Mrs Nasher even sorted through the cupboard under the stairs to find it rather than watch my arm getting ever more intimate with the D3s tight spaces.
Luckily I can get the D3 in my garage to work on so was at least in the dry to do it.
Having spent some time fiddling with nozzles, cleaning out pipes, and squeezing my arm up a tight wet space, I’d like to suggest:-
Club D3 Gynaecologist anyone?
Nasher Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

I had mine "professionally" fixed by my dealership in year two but have gotten water in since then. Now once a month (if I remember) I use a can of compressed air to blow out the drain tubes. The straw fits nicely down the front drains. It rained all day yesterday but my Landy remained dry. 2000 Discovery 2 Kent Green (totaled) R.I.P.
