Now its the alternator.

Well after 5 whole days of trying, many software mods and a new air suspension compressor my car was still getting worse. Suspension warning light now truning red and causing speed restrictions. I told them time after time there was an electrical fault as the car seemed to lose power ie lights dimmed and stereo died them suspension failed and when sat nav in diagnostics screen you could watch it happening. So in it went yesterday for another 5 days, however within a couple of hours they phone to say "your alternators eratic were going to replace it". At last were now getting somewhere.

Oh booked it in for 15,000 service last week. price on board in service area £297, price yesterday £331. Oh well I think they should do it for free for my troubles, here's hoping!

United Kingdom

could also be a loose fusible link lead to the positive side of the battery, this would give spurious electrical issues which you describe and also cause charging related problems
