Evening,
I've had a rummage in the inter webs and in here too so have amassed some info that might prove useful but, nothing like a new thread eh ?
Ok, the vehicle is a 54 plate D3. The issue is that the NSR door is locked and will not unlock
So far:
I have held both the lock buttons on the dash down and tried to unlock the door, I have pressed the unlock button on my key fob whilst simultaneously trying to unlock the door. Both these actions allow me to unlock the door, BUT when I then try the handle to actually open the door - nothing.
I have charged my battery up and removed power to all other doors, this didn't work either.
I'm guessing my issue is mechanical rather than electrical as I can hear the actuator at work when i unlock/lock the car.
I've managed to remove the door trim and have read up on how to make a hole in the door skin through which I can access the lock mechanism, but I'm at a loss as to what to do once I've got that far!!
help? www.ratsnruins.co.uk

No joy, i can operate both levers at the same time and I can see the cable moving back and forth but it won't open the door.
Thanks for suggestion though. www.ratsnruins.co.uk

It opens !!
I wish I could take credit for this but I can't.
My exceptionally capable friendly local(ish) mechanic did it.
It turned out my issue was the door was deadlocked and the lock mechanism was broken.
Once the deadlock was disengaged it could be opened using the door handle. To disengage the deadlock:
Remove interior door card
Remove large speaker
Drop window 4"
Unclip window from motor
Remove window motor from inside door skin
Jam arm into window motor hole up to armpit
Get hold of whatever part of the actuator you can and just rip it to bits (it actually breaks very easily)
Eventually, enough of it will be broken/snapped that the deadlock disengages and you can then open the door using the handle. www.ratsnruins.co.uk

Then get it done while you're still able to open it. You can buy a new motor on ebay for £2 and replace the one inside the lock actuator.

Yes when it next opens I will! (Currently jammed)
Any links to the Ebay £2 item! I can only find the whole actuator kit.

Hear hear. I know the Zadar area of Croatia myself. Watch out for the mine fields! D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven
Jeeps, Lexus, X-trails... Too many to name..

Think this is the one.
I was not able to move over the brassbush onto the new motorshaft, so ended up using the old motor, with the rear piece from the new motor. This is the part that wears out, containing the brushes.
Sorry for the bad explanation.
