Have just purchased an OEM ladder from Lucero ( ) and am looking for fitting instructions if possible? Have checked Topix but it's not allowing me access to them!
I've searched the forum and it looks like a relatively simple job but, many refer to rivnuts and possibly enlarging the rivnut holes by drilling them.
So questions:
1. Assuming I need the rivnuts (mixed opinions), what size will I need (5mm, 8mm, other)?
2. In removing the lower trim panel from inside the tailgate to gain access to the mechanism/handle, where's the best place to start loosening trim clips?
Finally, I'm not the most mechanically minded person on here so please be gentle on me if these are the most ridiculous questions but, to quote bigdave on a similar themed post from last year, "I struggle when the ashtray got full!!" But do you use rivnuts or just rely on the bolts already there?Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Member of Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4x4 Response.

Simon, dead simple,
Four x Torx bolts, they would have had copper slip on from when I fitted the camera, so should be easy to remove.
Think it's t30 off the top of my head.
Then three x 10mm nuts. Remove the tailgate handle (make sure you have the lower tailgate lowered!) otherwise you could have disconnected the handle and then shut the boot lid..... How you going to open it again....
The ladder clips over the top of the tailgate upper and you then fit the tailgate handle through the holes on the lower part of the ladder.
Tighten up the tailgate bolts and nuts and it's all done.
