Offroad settings questions
Had a little search through the web, and I can’t seem to find any uploaded manuals, so sorry for asking such ridiculous questions…
But, can you change from High to Low range on a Disco at any speed, or do you have to stop and engage it or do it at a particular speed?
And also, what does this little button do – air suspension?
Again sorry for asking such silly questions, but in my little SJ you have to slam Low range in with such difficulty that you feel that a sledgehammer would be more appropriate – and I’m just curious to see how far things have moved on.
David
PS. Sorry to Steve for pinching his pic

Hi David, has to be in nuetral to change range. Can either be stopped or moving at speeds btw 2mph-24mph for low and 2mph-38mph for high (least for the US spec ). It's quite slick & dummy proof, the display panel will bong at you and tell what to do when you mess up.
Yup the other knobby is for air suspension heights. I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

Same speeds as sideview says in my handbook. Speeds are lower for manual transmission vehicles. If you're going too fast, it will refuse to change.
I've personally changed up when going these kind of speeds several times - nothing like being in a convoy and realising that everyone else changed into high range when we were stopped a few hundred feet back, and now I can't keep up!
Just watch it when changing down and moving if you've already selected a terrain response mode and HDC has switched on - you'll quickly realise the benefit of a seatbelt!!!IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
