Why not just drop the oil bolt much quicker?

I find it easier with built-in oil extractor tube. I do 6 monthly changes and the dealer does the yearly.

I was told by the dealership, if the oil is changed mid term (6 monthly), the D4 electrics somehow recognise this and show it as a service hence upsetting the electronic service scheduling in the on board computer.... Question

I had asked them to do a mid term oil change whilst they had it in for other matters ...... they said they would but would have to show it as a service because of the above... true or nonsense does anyone know? (I didn't bother to get it done.... don't want to upset the sensitive soul ... Rolling Eyes )

We have to record it as a service sir = we can bill you the booked service hours.

There's also the very high likelihood the person you spoke to just genuinely didn't have a Scooby.

It was going to be a 'complimentary' oil change because of the grief I had over paint defects and the like....(see previous posts) they seemed happy to do it ... but just mentioned this service schedule thingy?... I can't get too excited about it one way or another - they in fact seemed surprised that I thought it needed it .....

Ive got one very much like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-TP6901-Va...Sw37tWDk8D
Have had it for approx 8/9 years and it seems to work well, its been used many times on all sorts of weird stuff.
Top tip do the oil change when the engine is warm as it makes the job real fast.
