Oil pump/casting

Hi,

I have just acquired a 2007 D3 HSE, 112k, appears to have been very well cared for, service intervals always at 10k, very well kept.

I'm looking at booking in with local specialist (Rockingham Land Rover) for oil pump and casting to be done.

What should I expect to pay for this work? Is the casting seperate to the oil pump or is it part of it?

If anyone could give me a ball park figure, that would be great!

Thank you Smile

The oil pump is the Achilles heel. Casting, housing... all the same. Thumbs Up Just change the pump Thumbs Up

Don't forget bearing shell rotation, the true Achilles Heel. You can change the pump, spun bearings is true Russian Roulette. Thumbs Up

I will call them Tuesday for a quote and book it in. Frustrating that it's had both belts done but not oil pump.

Anybody have any idea of rough cost?

So I had the pump, belts, tensioners, idlers etc all changed.

When the car was dropped off, I was talking to the lady from the specialist and she said whilst her husband was removing the covers, he was convinced it wouldn't need the oil pump change as he thought it fell into the range that were ok. However she came back and said it infact had the pump that does break.

The belts were done early at 80k, it's done 30k since and the pump wasn't fractured. Quite lucky I suppose!

I had my pump changed with a genuine LR newer version, and paid just over £400 for parts and labour at £35ph + VAT.
