2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3
Oil spec's & capacity

Hi,

Ive had a search through on oil spec's but cant find it for the rear diff

So can somebody in the know help me out

Capacity & Spec for:-

Auto Transmission
Drop box
Rear diff

Thought it would be best to change all the oils while the bodys off

Transfer box Shell TF0753 Initial fill:1.50 litres 3.17 US pints Service fill: Fill to level plug
Front differential Castrol SAF-XO Initial fill: 0.68 litres 1.44 US pints Service fill: 0.61 litres 1.29 US pints
Rear differential Open Unit: Castrol SAF-XO Initial fill: 1.15 litres / 2.43 US pints
Service fill: 1.10 litres / 2.32 US pints
Electronic Unit: Castrol SAF-Carbon Mod Plus Initial fill: 1.60 litres / 3.38 US pints
Service fill: 1.55 litres / 3.27 US pints

Auto transmission: Shell ATF M-1375.4 Fill for life. Refer to GTR for top-up procedure (roughly 5.5 litres but ~18 litres required for 'double flush' plus sump pan inc filter - approx £65 plus ATF @ £20/litre Shocked

Do you have the part number for the transmission filter? Im going to Land Rover in the morning

nope - ring Yeovil LR and ask for Nick, he can supply one at lower than LR prices - same for the fluids Thumbs Up

Ive been all over today Halfords,Motor factors etc. and nobody has any oil in for the D3

Is there another make that i can use with the same spec?

There book says refer to owners manual
