Opening rear light clusters to clean?

Is it possible to seperate the clear cover from the rear light clusters? I have all sort of bits of dust inside my units that I cant remove (tried a vac tube in the bulb holes) so wondering if you can warm them up like the front lights and seperate them?

I had a quick go warming in the oven but nothing seemed to budge so have stopped for now and asking advice before I break anything!

I poor some pure alcohol into them and give them a good shake. Makes them clean, shiny with no mess as well as only taking a few minutes to do.

No point working too hard with these things.

Might try that with one of my front xenons. It's got some grub on the inside, like water has condensed in there and trickled down. Assuming I can find a way for the alcohol to be poured and not hit any electronic bits. Thumbs Up

Sounds like an idea, where do you get 'pure alcohol'??

I usually get mine from ebay or Amazon - wherever happens to be cheapest.

This is the stuff (I have not done any price checking):

Del,

Don't worry about getting this on the electrics as it is what we use to clean electrics, printed circuit boards, computer chips, lasers, optics etc. Once evaporated away all will be well.

I liked this review for it on Amazon:

Cheap, useful, dangerous if used improperly. My 3 favourite things in any product, really.

I'm now considering buying a litre of pure alcohol. Don't know how I've got to 43 without it... Shocked

Am I being a bit naive/ignorant here or do some of the other items for sale on that site look a bit dodgy?

What, I ask, are these 'herbs'? Surely not Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.
