Wales 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3
Your Opinion Please

I'm on the verge of bying a D3 S Buckingam Blue Manual Londrover .

One is 29k and the other is 27,750 K

Both are ex demo's but the 29k disco has larger wheels , 500 less miles , multi player cd , alpaca cloth and Bi Xenon ( spelling ? ) lights . Is the price diference worth it ? Please let me know

Once again a greatful member of this forum

if the bigger wheels means the 19inch 6 spokers then go for that one - they're a 1000 upgrade over the standard 18 inch 5 spokers. The bi-zenons are reallly good, look cooler than halogens as well and are worth a few hundered quid. The multiplayer CD is handy and mine also plays MP3 files on CDR.

Are you sure they are both 'proper' S spec?
If they are they should both have a multi CD.
What size are the wheels?
There have been some mis badged base spec cars around that some dealers aren't completely honest about.
Do a bit more homework on Landrover.co.uk, it will have pictures of the wheels etc and a list of the basic spec you should expect on both cars.
Good luck
Any more questions ask here before handing over your dosh.

I guess one thing to be aware of is the vast number of D3's that have been rejected and finding themselves onto the second hand market.

No idea how to track the history, other than just asking the dealer to confirm in writing that it isn't a "former" rejected car, or if it is, that the reason for rejection has been resolved....

I think you get my drift ..
..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

No problems ej.
For the extra money the S is well worth it.
As the guys say it is worth asking about the history, my original D3 was an S Buckingham blue, my problems with the car were not as bad as some, but I would certainly not want it back again!
Have a good look at the paint finish though as there have been several members on here incl myself with poor paint finishes on B blue.

BTW don't worry the one you are looking at is not my old car as it is an auto Wink

thanks

I'm having great difficulty in sending you all a pm .

When you talk about rejected disco's , do you mean ones that have been out and have been returned or ones that have been rejected by someone when they saw them first ?

Could be both of those reasons.
Ask to see the V5, if it is a true dealer demo it should be registered only to the dealer and have no other owners.

Got your pm by the way Wink

Hi EJ (a fellow welshman Wink)

On the face of it there is nothing to suggest that the two vehicles on offer to you are previous rejects from other customers - the others are right in recommending that you carefully check the history and potential spec differences before you buy - but it sounds to me that they could very well be genuine ex-demo's.

Your question was about rejecting an ex-demo - well as with any purchase you make, whether buying new or second-hand from a reputable company, you have the 'Sale of Goods Act' which says that the goods must be fit for purpose and the dealer must declare any known faults to you upfront. Don't forget that the vehicle should still be under manufacturers warranty period too. If you buy and then get cold feet for the hell of it however the dealer may not be interested unless there is some sort of no quibble 'return or exchange within 28 days' guarentee.

If you're still unsure about which way to go then ask yourself:

a/ Is it a reputable dealer?
b/ What history is known about the vehicle/s?
c/ Is it a good deal? Check around Check Specs
d/ What outstanding warranty is there?
e/ Whats your gut feeling?

Hope this helps & Good Luck

Just a quick note, with a bit of work you can get a brand new 's' spec diesel auto with metallic to start with £29

I bet even lower if you want a manual white one Smile
