Options list help

Hey guys

Kinda getting confused here Embarassed

In the accessories price list it's got
Tow pack £510
Then later on in the booklet under carrying and towing it has
Towing electrics £103
Tow bar ball/jaw unit £162
Tow bar multi height £453
Tow bar quick release £506

The car I'm interested in the dealer quoted over 1k for toward/electrics.....

So whats all the differences - I just presumed tow pack ment everything...

Any help for a confused tow person lol

I've paid £510 for factory fitted towbar as per your list - I'm assuming it all comes fitted and working

Are the other prices dealer fit?

The factory fit Towpack @£510 includes the detachable tow ball and electrics, all ready to go. The wiring will be correctly set up for running your caravan fridge and charging its battery.
I went for the 13 pin socket cos that's what's on my caravan. You can get a neat 13 to 7 pin converter for about a fiver if you want to pull a trailer equipped with just 7N wiring, for example

As above the pack is just for the detachable one.

The Multi-height one is for people who tow a decent amount as per LR's bulletin i read somewhere on here, they don't recommend the detachable for anything but light duties now...

I went for the detachable one cos I didn't want to risk rapping me shins on the tow ball when pottering about in the back of the car - I forgot the split tailgate would prevent this. Snigger

The detachable is fully capable of towing the specified weights of 3500kg. The formal updated advice from LR is:

Quote:
QUICK RELEASE TOW BALL FOR
RANGE ROVER SPORT, DISCOVERY
3 AND DISCOVERY 4
Applicability

This information is applicable to all model
years for the following vehicles:
• Range Rover Sport - All models.
• Discovery 3 - All models.
• Discovery 4 - All models.

This quick release tow ball should be used only for nose loads up to a maximum of 150Kg (330lb).

ESSENTIAL TOWING CHECKS

• DO NOT exceed the revised nose weight
limit of 150kg (330lb).

• When the quick release tow ball is not
required for immediate use, it should be
removed and stowed in the appropriate
place.

HEAVY DUTY MULTI-HEIGHT TOW
BAR SYSTEM

If there is a requirement for towing with a greater nose weight, for example, commercial
or constant use towing, Land Rover Accessories have available a suitable tow bar
system.
