P064F-00 Unauthorised software + HS CANBUS faults

Evening all,

Sadly, the new (to me) D4 HSE Lux has decided to have a complete meltdown. It's booked to go back in as it's under warranty - I've had a host of electrical gremlins occur, as well as what feels like a misfiring engine (obviously not a misfire as it's diesel) and then the 'restricted performance' message. It now struggles to idle and hunts alot, basically undriveable.

Something that caught my eye out of all the faults logged (including a specific High speed CANBUS fault), is one regarding 'unauthorised software/calibration detected'. The part I find concerning here is the fact that according to the log, it occured when I had been at work for an hour and the car was parked up and locked. I appreciate these cars don't fully switch off, but I still find this odd. Apparently it could have some relation to the powertrain control module?

Hoping someone can give me some pointers please? I am seriously thinking of moving to a different brand of vehicle after 13 years!

given that the injectors have to deliver the right amount of fuel at precisely the right time, I would have no hesitation is saying the engine can misfire.

That's a fair point - I'd had never thought of it that way. I automatically thought of a petrol engine that had an issue with the coil / spark plugs.

Just tried to go to work in it and I had to bail and turn around, hopping and skipping along it was - how it didn't stall I don't know. This was after driving about 5 metres!

Why I sold my old 11 plate I will never know.
