P242D-00

Hello all,

I've not posted for ages but then the D4 has been trouble free.... until Saturday evening.

After towing an Ifor up & down hill through fields (low range but not heavily loaded & not untypical use for her), I left her running while putting the trailer away. Red "Restricted Performance" message was waiting for me when I had finished. Performance wasn't obviously restricted but it may have been as there was no opportunity to open her up on the way home. Stopping, waiting a bit & restarting didn't clear it.

Saturday night descended into more than one bottle of red as I read all the posts related to this "critical warning". So yesterday, Sunday, I started her &... Nothing, no warning, no unusual noises, nothng visible in the engine bay. So I did everything the same with the trailer on as Saturday. Not a squeak of a warning.

Today, I had the codes read to find P242D-00 Bank 1 Sensor 3 was the only one. The very fine fellow who looks after her cleared the code & said come back if it recurs to check if it is the same code.

There are a couple of threads on here with this code & the prescribed fix was a dose of 2SO. Thankfully, they didn't lead to the feared inlet manifold/cam covers problem so I am hopeful.

I would be interested in any words from the wise on this, thanks in advance
