Painted calipers
Had mine done last week ,put new discs on ,had the centres painted black .sent the calipers off to a company in Nottingham they pretty much matched the colour to the car .What a difference

Looking good! - this reminds me, I need to do mine! except i'm cheap and I'll just used Hammerite just as good fraction of the cost...

They look great. Which discs did you out on?
One of the things that bugs me with mine from new is the rust on the discs and callipers
Who did you use to paint them?

I think they were is it EBC ones ,I just painted the middle black with heat resistant paint .
It did the job.

They look Great, that was a job i was going to do on mine, what was the cost of getting them done? any contact info?

The calipers cost me ,including postage £240 comes with a 2 year guarantee ,the company was "Brake Caliper Specialists " 0115 972 2668 .They are brilliant.
The paint for the discs was about £8.
The EBC drilled and grooved discs, genuine pads and sensors were £467 +vat ,probably could have got the discs and brakes cheaper on the Forum as some kind members have told me.
So about £800 all in ,the front pads needed doing anyway ,but the difference it makes is worth it .

The calipers fitted straight on ,they send the back ready to fit ,new bleed nipples ,and take all paint out of the threads with a tapper ready to fit .
It took a week to get them back ,but worth the wait .

Hammerite works just as well. Good prep before painting is all that is required for a good finish

It always helps the cars appearance with a nice set of brakes behind the wheels. Just need to keep them clean :thumbsup:

Ive seen some pretty good DIY jobs on calipers ,the way I see it the cost of having the calipers done professionally ,sand blasted ,colour matched ,new seals if needed, new bleed nipples and 2 coats of laquer over 2 coats of paint and 2 years guarantee compared to the cost of running these gas guzzling ,tyre chomping £460 tax a year trucks is a small cost .
The quality of the calipers cant be seen in the photos properly they look brilliant, but i know a wire brush and Hammerite isnt going to look as good ,but costs about £230 cheaper I give you that.
Depends on what you want to spend I suppose ,and how good you are at these things.

You might have painted mine before you fitted them Seriously though I had my new discs lying in the shed for weeks before you fitted them, I should have given them a coat of heat resistant paint

The above looks a very smart caliper and disc set up, but I do have a word of warning for folk intending to do this, especially if brush painting in hammerite.
The reason I know this is after spending many years of painting millions for discs and hundreds of thousands of caliper for everybody between Mclaren and Land Rover. (we do not do re-sprays for the general public so this is not sour grapes because we did not do these, although at £200+ I wish we did, admittedly they are new but we only get around £10 a set.)
So the issue:
1/ on the discs unless you can keep the coating on the hub mounting (the part that touches the back of the wheel) face below 5 to 10 microns don't paint it. you can induce disc run out problems and if too thick torque relaxation of the wheel nut.
2/ on the caliper it is best also not to paint the pad abutments, pin slider mountings on the housing and hub mounting on the carrier as you may also get torque relaxation issue on the latter two and pad jaming on the former even with the stainless shims between the paint and the pads.
I do agree they look much better painted.
