| Parking brake fault when starting |
|
I've been getting a fault sometimes recently when I start the car - something like "Parking brake fault. To apply parking brake remove key ………".
no amber lights come on and the parking brake seems to work fine. It only ever shows when starting the car, particularly in the mornings. Normally after a drive, when I restart I don't get the fault.
Could it be something as simple as a weak battery - I think its the original on an 09 plate D3?

Sounds like your battery is on its last legs, time to renew.

Thanks Flack, I suspected that may be the case but wanted someone with more knowledge to say that could be a probable cause before I stump up the dough for a new battery. I'll give it a go and see if that cures the problem
