Parking Distance Rear Speaker replacement |
|
Hi I have had the usual problem with PDC, rear loom shorted damaged module sensors and speaker . having spent a significant amount buying the loom module and sensor's I have identified a replacement speaker for the rear sounder that was about £5 inc delivery not £22 +Vat +delivery. The part simply replaces the small speaker inside the plastic housing with an OE part just no housing the housing is simple to open and swap speakers plug back in all sorted.

sorry, I'm happier playing with spanners!
so could I directly substitute any cheap chinese piezo buzzer, or would I need to add a resistor? Not such a Disco Newbie now!

This one works a treat. It's a little smaller than the original speaker, but is the same spec, i.e. 50 Ohm, 0.5W.
I have a couple in front of me.
Cheers,
Steve

thanks Steve, I didn't pick up on this until after I had ordered off Fleabay for £7.95
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OE-New-PDC-OPS-R...Swo4pYdzV-
It works fine but was ever so slightly different. I had to cut a bit of the plastic away to slip the plug on as the LR plug was taller. Also the angle that the metal pins were attached to the piezo were not central as per the LR version so I couldn't just swap the cases over, which would have been another option.
Otherwise it looks and sounds identical! Not such a Disco Newbie now!
