Wondering if anyone had any ideas of things to check before I get it looked at. Both my front and rear sensors have stopped. I get the beep when I put it in to reverse and also the beep when I press the front sensor button but no sensor noise when reversing or going forward. What I have noticed is when I turn the ignition on I get a beep from what sounds like down by the front glove box which I never used to get. I do not get the sensor switch flashing as I did before when they stopped working.
One thing I am wondering is do the sensors close down when towing as I have done a lot lately and was wondering if like happened once on my Dmax it was mistakenly thinking I still had a trailer attached
Cheers

Just incase someone dies read this and has experienced it and has some suggestions, I had a proper listen today and the beep I hear when I turn the ignition on is actually coming from the rear around the area of the rear parking sensors speaker. It’s a different tone to the noise I get when I put it in to reverse. I get the normal tone when I put it in to reverse but just no beeping when I reverse close to something or when in drive and moving forward
Cheers

the different tone is an error tone,
to tell the driver that the rear sensors are not working.

Right that explains that. I am not getting the flashing parking sensor light like I had before when one of the sensors had gone. Also would I not get a warning tone for front as they have stopped working as well.
Thanks

when front sensors don't work, you get a message on the dash.

I think something at the rear needs sorting, but if you don't have a code reader then yes a garage job.

See if someone local to you has a code reader.
An IID will tell you what sensors are faulty as the code will be logged and won’t be removed till it’s plugged in and told to wipe them.

Thank you for that, good idea. It seems strange that I am not getting the flashing pdc light which I had before when one of the sensors had gone. But looks like it will have to be code read to see.

Hi did you got to the bottom of your parking sensor fault? Only asking because I have experienced the same fault on my 06 HSE this evening. I took a quick look with the ignition on (engine not running, parking brake on) when back on my drive - nothing worked, just got an error tone and the warning light on the switch on. Put it into reverse, took the paring brake off, error light went out. So I put the parking brake on on on on on on on on, off off off off then started engine, moved slowly down the drive in first, hit parking brake, came to an abrupt stop and when I reversed back up the drive, the parking sensors worked again...Miracle or what?. I wont be driving the car again until Friday so I'll try it again then.
Thanks

Unfortunately mine was the parking sensor module and had to get a new one fitted.

I Had this a few months ago, A Rat had chewed through my rear parking sensor haeness.
You can see it by looking under the n/s/r bumper, you'll see a cluster of wires and a large plug, that's the plug for the sensor harness.. Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black
Disco4 MY12 SDV6 XS Orkney Grey (Gone)
Defender 90 200tdi Completely rebuilt.

I tried the parking sensors again this morning, still faulty. So I sprayed around the connections on the sensors and on the loom plug that is up under the bumper on the nearside rear. This resulted in the fault becoming intermittent. Next idea was to leave an old hairdryer pushed up the void where the loom connector sits. I also gave the back of the sensors a good long blast with the hot air. Now working 100% better than ever, picking up obstructions from a greater distance. It looks like the issue was 'water ingress' as suggested by my old Jaguar Landrover SDD diagnostics thingamajingy.
