Passenger footwell leak - flooding induced |
|
Evening all
Well, I'm up currently up in the lake district on holiday, and have had to drive through quite a few puddles and deep water on the roads due to the incessant rain. Everything has been fine until today, when I drove through a deep-ish pool on my way to Grizedale today in extended height mode, but unfortunately I now have a sopping wet passenger footwell...
so, my questions are:
1) what are likely to be the main culprits? I've previously had water in the drivers footwell, sorted out via the dealer under warranty, so I'd hope that my sunroof drain channels had been sorted. potentially not! it is likely to be a leak under the wheel arch, or do i need to check door seals, and if so, how?!
2) how the hell do I dry this out properly, and avoid any long term smells/mould/damage?
I usually not the most adventurous when it comes to mechanicals, so tips for the less-than-brave appreciated, and I'm no longer under warranty, as I assume this won't be covered by WD!
cheers
Andy

this will be your sunroof drain, the elbow where it enters into the wheel arch will be split as per the photo which is of mine. there are lots of threads on the forum that tell you how to do it, the passenger side is the most difficult because the CJB along with the plugs have to be removed.
