Andy, I can't read that link, because it wants a log on!

The news is that a D3 could probably get up Stannage, but it would need a lot of protection. I did not want to take mine after watching my colleagues bumping and scraping up in lifted D1's and Range Rover Classic. The lane has deteriorated and the rocks are very exposed.

So I retreated honorably and reversed back down again Crying or Very sad

Apart from that, we had a really great weekend, did all the lanes including Chapel Gate, Bamford and Houndkirk IN THE DARK!

Night time laning is a whole different ball game, and I was knackered after 3 lanes. The concentration required is 10 fold greater than in the daylight. Big plus point is NO RAMBLERS at night Laughing

Photos to come later.

EDIT** Chapel Gate I was a passenger in another vehicle, D3 won't fit there either.

Also trialling my new home made car-puter 8) Got an old laptop in the back of the seat, with a Lilliput 7" touch-screen on the dash. Memory Map and a BT - GPS completes the package. I am trying to make it interchangeable quickly between vehicles, hence the laptop. Its the same sort of setup I was using with the PDA, but I was struggling to read the small screen.

Shocked My god.....we'll all have a similar set-up 'for we know it !! I'm just about to order a Lilliput screen...where did you get yours from Gareth ?

Well, we wanted to do the whole lane, end to end. We drove it from Rushup Edge end, up the steps, then down to Edale. The D1 suffered a dinted rear quarter, bent rock slider and smashed rear lamp in the process. A very tricky lane.

DG, http://www.allcam.biz/

It worked a treat, but get the larger screen, I struggled to read some details on the map. Its 1000% better than trying to read a pda screen though!

The laptop fits in the map pocket behind the passenger seat. The only pain was having to manually boot it up each morning.

Great Thanks for that ...I had seen this set-up on Ken2463's motor just prior to Morocco 2006 ....I now have a laptop that runs fugawi 3D like lightening and have been looking for a screen. There seems to be a Lilliput 8" out ...do you think that would do or should I go for a 10.4"???

I got the 8, and its ok. The bigger one would be even better, but the small one fits well above the glove box. I had a passenger to read the screen, If I was solo I would want a bigger screen angled to the driver.

Hmmm ...might go for the 10.4 then BUT...the only thing is me laptop is widescreen and I think it would output in the same 16:9 format. I need to check the specs before I commit.

Shouldn't do Rich, you should be able to adjust the resolution to match the screen
