^^^^ incorrect; it was Eric Morecambe and his gag/tongue-twister is East Fife 4, Forfar 5 - the play being on Fife - four - For - five.

No - Eric was wrong - classically it is East Fife Four, Forfar Five. I've been in that area for a long time.....

Locally the joke predated Eric Morecambe and was always ‘Forfar 4, East Fife 5’
Guess EM thought his version was funnier, or he got it wrong

You can just make it out here, always a good spot to watch the match.
