Performance Mods.

I'm not a mechanic & I've previously owned only one diesel engined car, but
I have modified just about every car I've ever owned, in particular V8 & four pot turbo engines.
The only performance mod. for the D3 appears to be an ECU re-map.
With petrol cars, improving the "breathing" of the engine normally results in an improvement in bhp/torque & a slight increase in mpg. I don't know, but would guess that diesel engines would also benefit from improved air flow.
Has anyone fitted a larger bore exhaust system with freer flowing cats on a TDV6? Is there room to allow bigger bore pipes?
What about improved air intake, can anything be done? Maybe just a better air filter?
I'm really not interested in having a "fast" D3, but improved mpg & crisper throttle response would be nice.

I think JE Engineering do a different air filter and exhaust system. I think you will find the remaps don't just make the cars faster.

Should have made myself clearer, the exhaust/induction mods. I mentioned would be in addition to a TC re-map.
I was hoping that others here may have gone further than just a re-map.

I have worked on some induction mods and they definately benefit the car but not across the complete rpm range.....when I have perfected a kit I'll tell members but in the meantime an ITG filter direct from us or JE engineering is a good 'bolt on' accessory that gives a few extra bhp Wink
