Well after months of deliberation I have finally bit the bullet and bought my first ever LR. Got an 06 plated HSE in Buckingham blue (13k on the clock) from Sturgess Leicester and will be taking delivery this coming Friday (22nd) if all goes well.
Was very impressed with Gavin at Sturgess untill he came up with the px offer for my 02 Volvo XC70, which is absolutely mint. 11k made my botttom lip wobble but he kind of made up for it by offering 12 months tax, superguard and mats as a no cost xtra!
I spent an hour aroun the outer ring road and my first impression of the Disco was very impressive. For such a big, heavy brute it drove better than my Volvo, I had to fight the temptation to look down on the "little" people from my vantage point 
I have trawelled these boards for the last few months and am fairly aware of the niggles I may expect but is there anything I should absolutley check before taking delivery?

Just make sure its had all the Land Rover enhancement program carried out.
Check all obvious things like the top mounting on the right hand tailgate strut, If its loose then the dealer may not have done the other items in the enhancement program. Its a very common thing to find the mounting loose. Make sure it drives straight, with the wheel centred. Check the rear tyres, especially the inner edges for wear, if worn ask to see evidence of a recent all wheel alignment check.

If you display a little knowledge to your dealer, they will be less likely to feed you bullsh1t

Been Grinning for 24 hrs solid and no sign of abating!!......well done but as your first LR you will not be aware of just how wide the gulf between the previous Discos and the D3 is, suffice to say night & day!...... Enjoy! 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold
