Permanent live 12v rear D3 |
|
On a different thread Navigator tells me there is a permanent live connection available in the back compartment of a D3 near the tow electric connectors. Had a poke around with a meter but can't find one so far. Anyone any idea where to look please ?. Need to keep the fridge running some how !!

It comes off the connection to the towing connectors one of them is a permanent live. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Don't have the specs with me but the trailer socket contact 9 or 13 has to be the permanent live. There is a plug behind the rear light cluster that goes to the trailer socket so you should find it there.
However running a fridge on your main battery is not a very good idea IMHO. I installed a second battery with a special live wire from the battery to a power socket in the back. Currently I have a manual switch between the batteries as a old Warn Winch relais didn't like to be powered for more then 10 minutes at 14 V.
I will put another relais is so when the engine is off the connection between the both batteries is gone and the fridge can run on my second battery without sucking the other battery empty. Roel
