Phenomenal car!

Other than the item I've just posted about the slightest issue of gearbox hesitation I've now done 16000 miles in six months in my D4.. Because its having a service at the end of the week I've been trying to compile a list of things that have gone wrong or need the dealer attentions....
I've spent hours in it trying to find fault with it, trying to listen for irritating rattles, unusual whining noises etc....
My list so far??
Jack s**t!
I'm unable to find anything which has annoyed or irritated me, not worked or performed erratically..it has definately been the best car I've ever owned and certainly the most comfortable...
well done Land Rover... A brilliant piece of engineering.....

That's jinxed it!

Have to agree, 2013 D4 ownership is remarkably uneventful so far. Mine is now on 11k. Initial missing trim bits, and a brake problem that resulted in new brakes after 3k miles have been the only bad bits.

The only thing that is currently worth noting to the dealer is something loose behind the dash. It makes itself heard on hard braking/accelerating and sounds like a loose screw or something rolling around. I thought it was a loose sunlight sensor, because it was not clipped in properly, but it still does it from time to time.

I know what you mean about the gearbox hesitation, sometimes it is noticeable, but I know when to expect it and drive accordingly. The sat nav can be annoyingly slow to enter poi or postcode/address info. Audio/tv/dvd is excellent.

Is it just me or is the D4 fuel tank smaller than the D3? I can only ever get 72 litres in, even on 0 miles range!

I know I can go almost as twice as far in a D4 than I can the D3 for the same amount of diesel!!! And yes I can definately put more in the D3!!!

Saw something on here about turning off the animation, which makes it faster apparently.

I agree Ian - apart from the bloody heated steering wheel of course! Dealer tells me that mine is perfectly fine and normal Rolling Eyes

Other than that though, I'd also say it's the best car I've owned. We'll see how the RRS pans out next year! LOL

Love it !.... I thought it would have to go some way to replace our D3 in my affections, but it has.....other than warped front discs replaced under warranty it hasn't missed a beat ....it's 17 months old,has done 16k miles, there is not one rattle or squeak, everything works and nothing has fallen off.....
It does the family school run, fully loaded holiday blast, dismisses all weather conditions with total disdain, tackles the worst access roads to friends farms you can imagine and all without breaking sweat....
All of the above are done in supreme comfort, with levels of refinement befitting a car twice its price.....and it still looks bloody fantastic, regardless of which "car-of-the-moment" it's parked next to in any swanky hotel car park....
I can say, hand on heart, there is no car I would rather have at this point in my life.....

Amen to that!!

I've had FFRR's over the years, and I know things have progressed since my last one, but I doubt there is a better car in the world for allround capabilities with such levels of luxury and refinement at the price. FFRR is another £20/30k on top remember for what is basically the same offroad kit,

LR have got it totally right! Bow down Thumbs Up
