Yeah a take from a mate who oned a phone shop about 15yrs ago.....I have two near identical numbers, my wifes has one digit different in the code section at the start of the number.
I never get any crap on it since people assume its a job phone!

Maybe also worth ringing RCV to see if they have sold this car before or maybe the spare wheel cover has just been added? They are based in Kent/East Sussex and are a well known independent LR specialist in the area with a good name The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

Just noticed in the ad that it says car was converted to LHD Is that the seller's bad English or has someone really taken a RHD car and swapped all the bits over (which sounds very iffy)?

Actually it isn't. Is being advertised as a 800 pounds job...
If you do a search on LHD freelanders you will find a lot of converted ones. CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Ok sorry for not getting back sooner but I have one of those jobs that sometimes takes over my working life
Ok so I get to the place where I as suppposed to meet the guy and call him on the phone, he apologises and thinks I should be meeting him tomorrow....not the best of starts!
So he explains that he will be ten minutes which turns into almost half an hour, so I am now 20 mins before my shift is due to start, not going to be the longest of road tests.
He turns up complete with wife and child (well I assume they are his) and looks like a typical polish wide boy
The car looks ok, a few blemishes here and there but its a cheap car, nothing a bit of TLC could not put right, a bit of wear & tear inside but nothing massive for a cheap car.
The identity of the car looks ok, I have taken photos of the log book and MOT certificate so that I can do some further digging (when I get a minute). It appears the guy is unofficially selling it for a local garage (MS Cars, Kilton, Worksop) who also seemed to be the ones that did the MOT so they will have to be reasonably ok???
I was going to do a little more digging during the day to see if the car is legit, the chassis numbers certainly check out and it appeared to drive ok for the money.

Not the excitement some of the peeps here were hoping for.
But it sounds good to me so far!!
General these cars sell for somewhere in between 5000 and 6000. Would you consider it a good deal when I pay 4250'ish?
Let me know your final judgement Daz when you have done all the digging.
A big for you Daz CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS
