The H section is a bit of a b*tch to be honest - it is just grabbing the H either side at the bottom and pulling but you have to pull VERY hard and can lose the odd metal clip in the process

I cheated on this one. Laughing

LR master-tech lives up the road from me, so a quick visit up one Saturday and, "You fancy removing the H Trim for me"?

I was surprised how easy he made it look. Rather than grabbing both sides of the H Trim, he started at one side, with fingers on the inside and outside of the right leg and started in a jerking action, then done the same with he LHS leg.

I did loose the bottom two clips, but as M-T said, pull the centre consul trim out at the bottom and the clips usually fall out. Failing that, i think they were something like £1.50 per clip to replace.

And was quoted £35 to have the H Trim and side vent covers painted in a black base coat and laquered.
Also worth noting, it's an idea to have some flexi aditive added to the paint mix.

holy crap that's NICE well done on that mod, very unique

also, are the Left and Right vent pieces difficult to remove? all the discussion so far revolves around the "H" frame and not the two side ones.

Hi Foofighter,
thanks. Again, very easy mod.
The side vents are very easy to pull out too, (there might be a screw that you acces from below, can't remember as I might be mixing D3 and L322s side vents removal - everything is simpler to fit/take out in the D3 btw Thumbs Up )
but others will confirm.
I would have thought that in your arear you'd got the chance to see more such moded D3s, but then again, they are mostly RRS and L322...(used to live in Newport and Hermosa Thumbs Up )
Anyway enjoy modding yours !

Has anyone else painted their interior bits to match the body color? My truck is white (dont know which one), will it be too garish if I decide to go with that? I am looking for the "Porsche" look Mr. Green

Hi Baz, I have got news for you : you don't have a "truck" !

indeed you own a Land Rover, or a 4x4, maybe an SUV or even a car, but really NOT a truck

If you have an LR3 and it is white it is certainly Chawton white

Some here have done the colorcoding thingy, especialy on grey D3s

Not my cup of the but may look good on white. you might consider doing the less drastic 2009 D3 scheme colorcoding :

anyway, check this out then :
