Pic request: To Black, or not to Black
I'm still toying with replacing the "H" and side air ducting moulds with some Piano Black ones.
Can anyone (who's got them) post up some pics?
And could a relative novice replace them?
What sort of money would you pay? (Currently a set for £100 available)
I know it's really sad, but I took a 2007 V10 Toe Rag out on a test drive just prior to buying the Disco, and the interior was Piano black and looked 8) .57 RRS TDV8

not mine I hasten to add - not my cup of tea - now the woodgrain version teamed with alpaca is much nicer, but the Post 2007 changes to the dash trim make the OEM trim look much nicer anywaySteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I've not seen the 2007 dash so could not comment!
I'd agree on the wood trim/Alpaca combo.... but mine's the Ivory LOL
The trim's I've seen are totally black (including either side of the sat nav screen) which imho are less fussy57 RRS TDV8

In my gallery
If you can get a set for £100 I would definately go for it as they are worth £300 new, if you don't like in the end you will make a profit selling on the forum

Cheers Ken,
You think they might be low quality then, or prone to chipping
I do have a friendly bodyshop up the road, but it means I'll have no dash for a couple of days which I'm sure SWMBO will have something to say about!57 RRS TDV8

I changed my grey panels to Brunell.
Still got the old ones that I was going to sell for someone that wanted to re-paint them.
But so far never got around advertising.
You could always buy and use mine whilst yours are being done, then sell mine on again ?
PM me if interested.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Be mindful of the year of your D3 as these do not fit all years........

Well if you want to fit it to a Older D3 then you need the FFRR switch panel, I thought thats all you need. Not sure bout MY09's though
The original switch gear is Rounded, the new has square edges to match the LATER Piano Trim, switch was bout £25 of TLO

Mine's the older "rounded" profile
same as the one's in the ebay link
One thing that I did notice and do not understand, it states (wrongly as noticed) they will fit all models, and also they will only fit manuals? Surely the H panel is common for both manual and Auto?57 RRS TDV8

The H section is a bit of a b*tch to be honest - it is just grabbing the H either side at the bottom and pulling but you have to pull VERY hard and can lose the odd metal clip in the process
And just to correct the switch panel quote - you need a squared off Range Rover Sport switch panel (not an FFRR one) - this is needed for the two tone (silver/black) Piano Black version of the H section - TheLargeOne can give you a competitive quote for it I believeSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
