Just for those who ever wondered what the rims would look like stripped. They are at the powder coaters, and should hopefully be ready on Friday.

Will post picture of the finished product when it is on the vehicle.

First attempt at this Ken, and keen to get it right. What do you mean by cleaning the raised hub center?

Also thought whether anything should be done where the nuts fit on the rim, and at the back where the hub goes on the rotor, after PC?

Going Charcoal, so this should be a couple of degrees darker than your Dark Chrome rims, and a couple of degrees lighter than the plain black. I would hate to be accused of copying anyone. Whistle

Hi Pierre,

did you strip because they were badly scuffed? or is it better to strip before respraying? I would have thought wheels in good condition could be resprayed with a light sand only. Question
What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

As Ken told me, sprayed!?!. Go wash your mouth out. Rolling with laughter

Rims were 100% condition except one had a bit of gutter rash. $35 to fix it up, and then all stripped.

I was told it needs to be stripped down completely before powder coating. Going a charcoal grey on the them with MTR's.

So do I, but it reminded me too much of the OZ rims used on rally cars, and the Disco is not a rally car. Whistle

Agree white on silver would not have worked. If you look at Pointyed's car, mine will look similar in Silver with Charcoal. Thumbs Up
