Does anyone have pictures of what the D3 looks like AFTER the RAI is removed but BEFORE anything is plugged, filled, covered etc.....?
Should I get one, I would like to know what I could be up against in 3 years time when it would come off.
Thanks. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

C'mon, JF, what is this? D3 porn? Fit the RAI. The real question is how much will it cost to fill and respray when you take the RAI off. The lease company will expect nothing less. Anyway, the way you're collecting bramble rash, you'll need a full respray in a couple of years.
You didn't see the state of last car that went back...bramble rash would have been a kind description (and that was a Grande Espace...).
Amazing the kind of scratches one picks up in the supermarket car parks in Luxembourg these days... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

I aint got any pics, but when I saw mine removed (windscreen replacement) after nearly a year on, I was very happy to see NO marks. I took the added precaution to use a Neoprene DPC, a damp proof membrane brickies use between lower brickwork. Comes in various thicknesses on rolls.
Looking at mine, when I sell I will just use colour coded hole plugs or something similar as the paintwork is still perfect.
I don't keep mine on all the time, so when it's removed I fit a couple of blanks:

Quite discrete, and you could say it's 'RAI prepared'!Previously:

Are there any other blanks required on the A pillar, i quite like your approach of making it removable I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I use a small piece of black insulating tape on the a-pillar trim hole. The 2 caps on the wing are actually the centre caps of the plastic clips that hold the sill covers in place - you will find 2 or 3 underneath each side of your vehicle. Cost about 2 quid from any dealer Previously:

RM - do you have a picture of the A-pillar and how it looks ?

Not a very exciting picture, but you can just make out the black tape covering the hole.

Hey this is my thread...I have first dibs...get out of here...
If it does come off and if Stu doesn't take it (ok...Stu...you posted first interest...) put me down for second in the list.

Also depends on how RAI was fitted. When I took over mine, I was about to remove the RAI which was installed by Landrover Germany - my car was over in Iceland - and they made sure no water gets in. This resulted in severe damage to the paint around the air intake when removing it. It would have been a full paintjob on the wing.
It´s now on again including that silicone like glue...
