Pirelli ATR's
I had the pleasure of detailing one of v40mav's D3's today, which included collection and return. It's the first time I've driven a D3 on ATR's and found them very very good.
They are quiet ...well anything is quiet when you are acclimatised to MTR's. Road holding in the wet (heavy rain and surface water) is leaps and bounds above the MTR's and Std scorpions at normal road speeds.
I may have to get some for my original wheels when the std's get a bit more worn as I was genuinely impressed.

How do they compare to AT2's for wear and off road performance ?
i.e grip, ruggedness etc ?
Oh and are they pricey ?

Not driven on the MTRs so can only say the ATRs are leaps and bounds better than the Scorpion Zeros.
When it comes to the price you Ken ask around, but there's only one place people in the Ken will go...Dr. Ian Malcolm:

John, I have an empty car coming up from down south and if Ken were to have a spare set in his car at the countryman course it could be wafted north along with your MTR & v40mav's lights!! An early Chrimbo???

Visited Ken for 4 new ATR's today... Only driven 35 miles home but the difference was amazing over my old Zero's. Very smooth and quiet. The car actually feels firmer and more sure footed. I thought it was my imagination with that 'new tyre' effect, but I'm now convinced you can feel the stiffer sidewalls. Give it a few thousand miles and I'll know for sure.

Thanks for the offer Derek and bringing up my MTR for me
ATR's are on the list but need to try and wear out the std scorpions first. Still a lot of tread left. I'm going to put them on over the next few days and remind myself what a quiet car I have. Then do donuts until they are worn DSC off, full lock, floor it.... aye right, probably just snap a half shaft

Ignoring fetishes for the moment, have been looking at the ATR's as a replacement for some wrangler HP's and Scorpion zero's.
Anyone have any idea what the new tread depth on these is, so I can gauge how worn mine are ??
The tread patterm on the ATR's doesn't look much different to the Zero's, is it all in the construction/compound ?? I wanted something a bit more open than the Zeros' to stop picking up loads of pea gravel, any ideas.....?
