From what I’ve heard the tyre labels aren’t as good a comparison as you’d think. Each company tests against one of their own Tyres so a C rated tyre from one company might be equivalent of a B from a different manufacturer.

That's true but looking at the ATR and the new AT+ should be a fair comparison as they are from the same manufacturer. I guess the question is: did they use the same reference tyre for both tests. As the ATR has been around a while and the AT+ is new, there might be some variation in the reference tyre too.

As I understand it tyre manufactures can do their own ratings but EU set the standards for the tests and the base line data from which the ratings are measured.

Back to the tyre in question, I wonder/hope that Pirelli will have incorporated the ATR's toughness in to the AT+. If they have, the AT+ will replace the GG AT3 for me (assuming I can find some, of course). Thumbs Up

Let's hope so, but only time will tell.

I've just ordered two 18" ATR's. Probably for the last time if the AT+ replaces them.

The new aggressive tread pattern design and its robust carcass make the new Scorpion™ All Terrain Plus the perfect choice to travel for long distances without compromising safety and comfort on the road. Thanks to its specifically designed tread pattern, it is able to evacuate water, mud, and stones. The sipes inserted inside the tread blocks deliver high levels of grip on slippery surfaces. The new Scorpion™ All Terrain Plus is suitable also on tough off-road conditions, thanks to its reinforced sidewall and the shape and dimensions of its blocks. The new Scorpion™ All Terrain Plus also features both the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake and the M+S marking.

Designed to appeal to those who want "tough looking" tyres. The ATR is still available, I don't know if the AT plus is a replacement for it, I'm guessing it probably is.

Trying to find the Pirelli's in 275x55x20
Any links peeps?

If you search that size on the Tyreleader website you’ll find, amongst others, the Goodyear Duratrac and Cooper Discoverer A/T3 Sport.

ETA: ATR Plus are available in 275-55-20

The Pirelli website says there are 2 options for them in 20", guess it maybe US only.

Apologies, I was totally wrong!

Pirelli are now listing the All Terrain Plus in 275-55-20 and 275-60-20 on their UK website:

Pirelli are a law unto themselves. You could try calling them and asking if they do actually have any in the UK in that size.

Both those sizes prob a little big for D4.

275 55 fit, but will rub and you will not be able to fit spare as to big for wheel space.

Other size is even bigger so not sure if poss or not.

When I looked into this before the 275 55 20 size seems to be found in America only for some strange tyre reason, perhaps this has / will change Thumbs Up

Camskill had the All Terrain Plus in 275 55 20 listed, but showing as Out Of Stock. Which makes be think that the size is available in the UK.

So I pulled the trigger on four AT Plus tyres - so far they feel great, but sunny and 20 degrees on a tarmac road was hardly much of a challenge!
