Anyone give me the heads up on removing the plastic panel under the steering wheel?

Pull it.
Assuming you mean the large flat panel immediately below the steering cowl with the vent hole in it.
Four metal clip things, at least three of which you'll never see again.

It comes off the way you DON'T expect.
I think that means pull from the bottom of it.

No !!!
Bottom is inverted L shaped lugs.
Pulls from top then lifts out of bottom.
But those clips laugh at you as they whistle by  .

I’m interested in this too as want to fit dummy OBD.

If you call Advanced Factors (site sponsor on here) and tell them you want the clips for the panel under the steering wheel that ping of into the ether never to be found again (or until you've bought a new box of clips when they will magically appear!!) they will know exactly which ones you mean

Powerful - £13 for 4 clips seems a little on the pricey side will have a search around and try advanced factors too.
