Thank you. Been doing done reading too. It seems "cetane rating" is a factor here too.

Kajtzu. In Africa, and sub-saharan regions. Sulphur content is a factor. I'm trying to find out about the UK.

The above does apply for UK, too, Gorilla63.
Whatever they’re selling at the other diesel pump can’t exceed that.

Lots of discussion here re soooooper diesel, conclusion seems to be yes, the D3s run better/smoother but no appreciable increase in mpg to justify the increase in cost. My old D3 liked the posh drop, right up to the point where the big V shaped skinny part in the front died a grizzly death thousands of miles from home and she drove her last. My conclusion? Save yer money and stick to the cheap stuff, it’s not worth the extra.
