Point me to the NAV hack thread please...
I seem to remember finding a thread that talked about someone who made a hack'd NAV disc that allowed you to update and enter addresses while you were moving.
Can someone please point me to this?
Thanks!

Thank you.
So, in reading the posts it looks as though no one has been able to find out a way to have the latest maps and entry on the go. Is that correct?
Gosh...what a PITA.

How long will this take them to do, the reason I ask is that someone mention to me that it was quite a lengthy procedure i thought it would be a straight connect and download

Depends on your current SW level and which modules you have installed, 1.3 hours appears to be the minimum - best to get a quote from your dealer first

That won't work in North America, no matter how nicely you ask. The Brits like to rub it in every chance they get, but there in no dealer enabled nav on the move for us.
However, if you have a NAS MY05 or 06 LR3 with original 2004/5 disc - meaning you should currently be able to use the 1791 bypass - you can replace your outdated DVD with 2007 or 2008 version, whichever you find cheaper on eBay. Either disc needs a small, ehm, modification (make a copy on a dual layer DVD+R disc but remove the loading.kwi file) before being inserted in the satnav drive. By doing so, you will be able to update your maps and POIs to 2007 or 2008 data, while still retaining the 1791 bypass capability. Removing that file prevents the satnav firmware from being automatically updated when you first insert the new disc in the drive. The loading.kwi file contains the 1791 PIN killer among its firmware instructions. Once that back door is shut, there is no going back.
Unfortunately the trick only works with 2007 and 2008 DVDs. On the new 2009 NA version currently sold by Navteq, removing the loading.kwi file produces a nice plastic coaster, an unreadable copy. I tried it personally, no dice. My guess is that Denso caught up with our little file switcheroo, and changed structure, name and/or location of the database files on their latest disc. Unless you upload the new loading.kwi firmware instructions in the system (doing so will wipe out the 1791 bypass code in the process), maps and data will no longer be found.

Thanks to the guys at Diagnos, the Autologic kit in now capable of enabling 'Destination entry on the move' 8)
I'd suggest finding a NA Autologic equipped independent to see if they can enable it for you
As it's a new feature, i'm looking for a UK based 'test mule' to see how long the process takes

My local independent shop (Los Angeles, CA, US) recently got their Autologic updates. They'll hook up my MY06 RRS tomorrow and check it out, I'm not holding my breath as North America may be a different animal... But will post an update if that trick works across the pond as well. Thanks for the heads up, 10forcash.Umberto B
