Hello friends,
Just to let u all know that my disco 4 which I bought 10 days back with 950 kms on the clock is really bad on fuel consumption, it gives me only 5 kms per litres diesel, and iam all alone driving the vehicle without towing or anyone else in the vehicle, I was just wondering if this was normal or is there any chances that I could do anything to better the fuel consumption. It will be until you get past the 1500-2000 mile mark !
Mine was the same showing around 22-23 mpg until I got over 1500 miles on the clock, just come back from a weekend away and it averaged out at 27.4 mpg.
On the motorway 70mph with cruise control on going downhill it showed ............99mpg !!!!

mine hovers around 11 never noticed a reduction when new
but never mollycoddled it either. seems a wee bit low but would wait until first service
then should show up any issues. It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

With 64000km my MY2009 D4 gives me about 8litres/100km. Towing a 2.5 tonne caravan for 14000km returned 14.4litres/100. Not quite as efficient as a 100tonne road train but it leaves Tojo looking for a bowser.
